Dear Juniata Community,

Our campus has been bustling this summer! Prospective students and their families are visiting Juniata for the first time, members of the Class of 2027 are taking part in orientation and Inbound, and visitors of all ages are taking part in various camps and conferences.

Meanwhile, current students are working, researching, studying, and exploring locations near and far. A total of 34 students received Super Internship Awards through the Juniata Alumni Internship Endowment and are completing internships worldwide. This includes Francesca McClure '24 and Rachael Triglia '24, who are serving at the Gift of Life Donor Program in Philadelphia, Pa.

Short-term study abroad courses like Fashion Marketing in France and Spain; Culture, Challenges, and Natural Resources in Kenya; and Eyewitness to Migration in Mexico—with a group soon to embark upon Travel Writing in Iceland—have allowed students to spread their wings and recognize the value of being a citizen of the world.

Closer to home, students and faculty are actively researching tickborne illness within Huntingdon County and creating a knowledge base and tools to provide vital prevention education for tourists and residents alike.

Finally, Juniata was recently notified by the Middle States Commission on Higher Education that our accreditation has been reaffirmed for another eight years! This was truly a collective effort by so many individuals here at the College and gives us great momentum as we go into a new academic year.

Applications will open Tuesday, Aug. 1, which makes this a great time to share the achievements of our students and alumni with those in your life who may be starting their college search! Check out information about the Juniata Community Scholarship below to learn how you can assist in student recruitment.

Warm regards,
President James A. Troha

Recruit Prospective Juniata Students

You can help build Juniata’s future by using the Juniata Community Scholarship by using your network to identify prospective students. When your recruit is enrolled at Juniata, he or she will receive a $1,000 a year scholarship for four years in your name at no cost to you, as recognition of your help in the recruiting process. The Juniata Community Scholarship sends an important message to prospective students. It is the first example of how the Juniata community feels.

Lending a Helping Hand

Members of the Class of 2027 participating in the community engagement and service Inbound partnered with Standing Stone Garden Club and Embassy of Huntingdon to restore the garden enjoyed by residents of the home. Students also spent time visiting with residents and providing personal care items. Inbound allows incoming students to make connections with their peers, faculty, staff, and the wider community.
