Dear Juniata Community,
The warmth and cheer of the holiday season offer a perfect moment to pause and reflect on another incredible year at Juniata College.
Together, the Juniata community–trustees, faculty, staff, students, alumni, and supporters–have celebrated achievements and forged connections. During my sabbatical in the spring, I studied other top liberal arts colleges to understand their success and further strengthen Juniata for years to come. I am grateful to Provost Lauren Bowen for her tremendous leadership as acting president throughout the spring semester.
Juniata’s year began with the opening of Statton Learning Commons, which has more than fulfilled our vision of a state-of-the-art living and learning space, becoming a favorite spot on campus to gather, study, research, and collaborate.
The moments between January and December have been filled with energy and purpose. We’ve come together for mattress dominoes, a once-in-a-lifetime solar eclipse, Spirit Day, cherished traditions, and an epic third National Championship tournament for our women’s volleyball team.
As 2025 quickly approaches, we are near the finalization of our campus master plan. An integral part of this process has been bringing our community together to share insights, feedback, and a collective vision for the future. The goal of the master plan is to provide a campus experience unique to Juniata in the years to come, while always holding true to the Juniata you love.
Whether through meaningful partnerships or new adventures, we look forward to all we can accomplish together in the months to come.
Wishing you a joyous holiday season and a bright, prosperous new year!
Warm regards,
President James A. and Jennifer Troha
