The Beachley Award for Distinguished Teaching honors an individual who demonstrates comprehensive knowledge of their field, excels in the organization and presentation of subject matter, stimulates critical thinking and the development of understanding, effectively arouses interest, showcases resourcefulness, and engages in notable scholarly activities.

Beachley Award for Distinguished Academic Service

The Beachley Award for Distinguished Academic Service recognizes an individual for distinguished research and publications, outstanding service to students through advising, counseling, or the development of student-related activities, exceptional contributions to the College through curriculum or departmental development, committee involvement, or college-wide activities such as admissions and development, the creation of innovative or creative programs, and other notable strengths presented by the nominator.

Henry H. ’57 and Joan R. Gibbel Award for Distinguished Teaching

The Henry H. ’57 and Joan R. Gibbel Award for Distinguished Teaching is granted to a tenuretrack faculty member who has taught at Juniata College for six years or fewer and who excels in teaching and scholarship and has made a notable contribution to the academic program.

Eagle Advising Award

The Eagle Advising Award is given to an individual who demonstrates extensive knowledge of rules, regulations, and requirements; possesses strong interpersonal skills; is accessible and approachable for advisees; maintains frequent contact and communication with advisees; diligently monitors and supports student progress toward graduation; makes appropriate referrals to campus resources; supports student progress toward personal and career goals; and actively participates in and supports advisor development programs.
